When I was a kid, I somehow got hold of an old late forties Herter's catalog....I was fascinated by the 19 dollar Trade Rifle...some black powder ML behemoth for the ivory trade. I was reading Ruark at the time, and, I could really have some interesting day dreams...

Thanks! I'm not a hard-core cartridge collector, but I do enjoy collecting them.

Well, there goes a couple of hours of my life looking through the 50's, 60's, and early 70's catalogs. Ah the plastic XP-100 in Fireball. The 22 Jet shows up in the 1962 catalog. I still have my father's 511 Scoremaster from the 50's and it still shoots very well.
... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.
