Amazing grace -- literally and figuratively.

You either "have it" or you don't. This gal obviously has it and it's a natural for her. We've had horses our entire adult lives and 40 years later, I still get fumbled just putting the halter on.----6

Six, I got the same horse genes you did. Fortunately I did not pass them on to my daughter, who got her B.S. at Baylor on an NCAA reining scholarship.

My cousin Gloria is an amazing rider. She too prefers bareback, though I don't know if she ever did any jumping that way. At 60 I doubt she'd try it today, but as a kid had it been suggested she'd have gone for it. Honestly I think some folks like horses better than people. Or as Gloria has said, some people are just two legged horses.

I've never been what you'd call a horseman. I can get by but I don't spend near enough time to get good. But anytime I see someone perform as the young lady in the video does I am amazed.

Bill,
That's impressive and no small feat to accomplish. She is obviously very dedicated as were both my son and daughter in the horse world back in the day but unlike your daughter, not dedicated enough. As the later teenage years progressed, interest waned and I saw the money expended during those years transform in a pile of brown stuff behind the barn.....I still have the Winchesters.

For some reason I never could get interested in horses, preferring to spend my early adult years studying the Madis book and working on a major trophy of my own......"Worlds Most Dedicated Beer Drunk", with a minor in "The Art Of Rolling Joints".
