Dang, I'm gonna have to go clean myself up. Are those Colts? Surely are since I doubt anyone would put that nice a job on anything else. Who did the scratchin'? Inquiring minds and all that.

Reckon a man could do some fancy shooting with a pair like that.

Sixgun,

Can you tell who made those? My old eyes thought they were Colts.

I've wanted a real Colt SAA since I was 5 years old and saw my first John Wayne movie. Never have been able to satisfy that desire. At my age and financial situation now that dream is just a fantasy.
Maybe not Colts, but those sure are purty.

Kinda look like USFA's to me. They made some really nice SAA's when they were in business.

The frame has the three line address which ended in 1890. (Going out of my head here so there's could be some years difference) The frame pictured has the horizontal cylinder pin lock which did not start until the late nineties. So......unless someone welded up the vertical screw hole and redrilled for a horizontal pin catch...its not a Colt. Like Hondo says, it too looks like a USFA gun. This company would put the old style patent dates on their frames to kind of "put you back in the day" but retained the stronger and easier horizontal catch.

I blew up the engraving and knew for sure it was not Colt engraving......too many minor mistakes....still very, very nice but if you have seen real factory Colt or Winchester engraving you would be able to see the difference.

The guns are very nice and USFA put out some classy guns. It's just that I've been spoiled a bit. I'm somewhat educated on the early Colts but never have been able to get a nice specimen from the lack powder era as people who have these guns know what they are worth and as a peon factory worker, things like eating and paying car insurance are more important.----6

Not exactly a matched pair. The appear to be two different calibers. One is a .32 WCF and I would guess the other to be a 38 or .357 ?
I would love to own them !!!

Great Good Lowrd, those are indescribably delicious.

Anyone know who did the engraving? Apologies if I not read enough of the thread...

And, here's wishing you all a Merry Christmas Eve!

The upper one sez "45 Colt", both have case rims that look to be the same size.
