Notice how the kids whose moms 'sheltered' them from violence really were the problem...

Re: Gun-proofing kids....
At three or four (I can't remember) I had Daughter at the gun range in ear protection. She knew, and understood at a very young age. When She has time, she still likes to go shooting with Dad. She has a beautiful 3" J Frame .38 special, and a nice 9 shot High Standard .22 revolver that I've given her.

Re: Gun-proofing kids....
Y2K shot a .22 for the first time at... 2 years old. Granted, I held him and the rifle. I wanted him to get used to wearing "eyes and ears", and to not be afraid of the recoil and sound of shooting (almost non-existent in a .22, of course). It all worked in spades. He is very safe - safer than I was at his age - and a recoil junky (like I was when I was young and stupid - and someone else was buying the ammunition!
).
I remember when I was growing up that all my friends who came from households where they had guns, whether the family was in law enforcement, military, and/or hunters, were very safe around firearms. They learned gun safety and respect very early.
The absolutely most dangerous kids where those that came from "gun-free" homes. They had all the intense interest with NONE of the safety instilled in them.
Typical liberal idiocy... and as usual, dangerous for everyone!

my father started me shooting a tiny little 22 when I was 2 1/2, the same age he started and with the same little Stevens Junior rolling block, ........and you bet I started my son at exactly that age as well.

ditto. I learned the same way. it should be required training in every publicly funded "education" facility. it would be so much more practical than "our bodies, our selves" porn pushed off on children.hfcable wrote:my father started me shooting a tiny little 22 when I was 2 1/2, the same age he started and with the same little Stevens Junior rolling block, ........and you bet I started my son at exactly that age as well.

Yep. They also tend to have the self-anointed arrogance of their LibTard parents, so think they know everything, and should be allowed to do anything, regardless of the rules, or the laws of physics...The absolutely most dangerous kids where those that came from "gun-free" homes. They had all the intense interest with NONE of the safety instilled in them.
