POLITICS - Newt on the war on terrorism
I encourage you to take the time to watch this video (about 5 minutes)....it is not politically slanted, but rather a blunt and chilling answer to a serious question posed to Newt Gingrich. It is a clearly worded warning that I have not heard from any public figure concerning the state of world affairs. This is one the most powerful and articulate summaries of the dangers of our current situation that I have ever heard, and a mystery to me why this is not painfully aware to every American and a subject of constant discussion.

Thanks Steve for posting this. This man knows a lot about this subject, I particularly listened to his warning about the fact of a US city being destroyed and the govt just coming down hard on our civil liberties in their attempts to stop anything else happening. Why in the world arn't there more people talking like this in the wake of 9-11? I sure would have enjoyed hearing old Newt give his opinion of what he thinks of the dis-arming of ordinary citizens in the US during these dangerous times in which we live. Millions of people, like he said, get up every morning hoping to think of ways to kill the US, and our liberal poiliticians are laying awake at night figuring how to disarm us so the killing will be easier I guess, -----go figure. AAAWWWHHH, ya gotta love that Chucky Boy Schumer, such understanding.
To hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat same as the worms.

Thanks, Steve.
He hits the point accurately as usual, however he mis-spoke when he said that "None of our high level political leaders have spoken about this danger."
On the contrary, Pres. Bush has spoken of the dangers we face as a people and a nation on many, many occations and repeatedly reminded us in press conferences and national speaches for the last 7+ years. The people don't want to hear it.
Newt was right we our sleepwalking. But mainly because we have been told on daily news casts and by Demecrats from both the House and Senate we've been told repeatedly. "The war is lost." "We can't win." that there is nothing to fear-since 2002. "There is no global war Islamic war against us it is only a Republican/ Bush pipe dream to scare and control us."
We have been put to sleep by the Democrats whispering over and over "There is nothing to fear but Republicans." "President Bush is a greater danger to the US than Islamist Terrorists. " I am not making up those quotes.
Now we are a few short months from turning over the reins of power to the next POTUS and the two Democrats differ only in how long to wait till the US can surrender and Iraq will be abandoned.
And AlQuida is using Democrat talking points to effect the outcome of the election to achieve that which they could not win by fighting the US Military.
Yes I'm worried too, but not for our grand children, this could happen within the next 2-3 years. Everybody who will be affected is alive today.
I hope we remember that in November.

IMHO, Newt is telling like it is and his weekly emails are a good way to keep up with things. I hope that more Americans will read and listen to him.

The sky is falling!
No wait, don't take that wrong-- I'm not accusing you of being Henny Penny, I'm saying it myself- Dark Ages are inevitable now. There is no turning away from the path of self destruction this country has cheerfully lunged into.
For every disparaging remark I hear about the Socialist politician of your choice, the accusation is true and is true of anybody who might become the 44th President. God Help Us. We won't do it ourselves.

In general, I believe Gingrich to be a self-enriching political shill.
In this case I agree with most everything he said that is on-point concerning the clear and present danger of Islamo-facism.
Perhaps I misunderstood his closing statement, but I do not agree with him that the war effort is being crippled by American citizens concern for their civil liberties.
The war effort is being crippled by a foolish strategy of nation-building, and the current adminstration's effort to enrich it's friends at the expense of the American treasury, rather than spending those resources where they need to be spent, on wholly destroying the enemy.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

That's a nice speech. Except for one thing. Just about every politician leaves out why they hate us. Ron Paul is the only one that I've heard that's told the truth. "They hate us because we're there". And we've been there for decades. Overthrowing their democratically elected leaders, covert and not so covert wars, supporting despicable leaders that kill their own people and other horrible things. They hate us for what we have done to them. For years. There's a term for this. Blowback. Ron Paul seems to be the only one in the entire Congress that knows this. Bin Laden wants to bankrupt this country like he did the Russia. And he did that with our help. This country is well on it's way to bankruptcy trying to kill everyone they don't like. The voters in this country listen to our politicians telling us how much "they" hate us. The voters never question why they hate us. If they did, none of these politicians would make it past the primaries.

What does that got to do with what is happening today? They are coming to kill us. Aint nothing going to change that except kicking their *** back to the sandbox. We have got a fight to fight. No amount of bitchin about the past is going to change that now.

Steve - thanks for posting this. It is a good speech, and it is things like this that make me like Newt. Too bad he has "gone over to the dark side" by siding with the "climate change" nutcases. He, of all people, should know that hamstringing our industrial might is no way to fight islamofascism.
They hate us because the pedophile they worship instructed them to wage jihad on infidels.
This is one of the few places where Ron Paul just doesn't get it.
Partially correct - I give big kudos to President Bush's willingness to be on the offense with islamofascism, but he refuses to acknowledge that Islam is the problem as a whole - first with the fanatics waging the war, but mostly with the rest of them putting up with the fanatics. As Newt mentioned, where is the outrage from the "religion of peace"? I know, Bush doesn't want to alienate the almost 1 billion Muslims who are not terrorists, and those Islamic countries "helping" us, but dodging the truth isn't helping us.JP_TX wrote: He hits the point accurately as usual, however he mis-spoke when he said that "None of our high level political leaders have spoken about this danger."

Absolutely 100% wrong. They hate us for several reasons; us being in their lands is way down the list. First and foremost is that their repressive "religion" can not tolerate the freedom and prosperity of the west. Given a choice, their people would pick our way of life. Thus, like communism - another miserable failure - it must not only restrain it's own people but actively seek the destruction of the better alternative. We are not only a constant draw to their people, but a constant reminder that they reached the pinnacle of their "civilization" 1,000 years ago, and if it weren't for oil, they wouldn't have any contribution to the modern world.tcomer wrote:That's a nice speech. Absolutely 1000% wrong on both your parts - they hate us because we support Israel… shhhh it’s a big secret that Jewish people and the media don’t want you to talk about, so don’t let it out.

Communism failed in Russia, did we defeat it, or did communism defeat itself? And did the allure of free trade play a part?
The "They hate us" part has to be more defined or we are just spooking ourselves. In other words, the leaders or proponants of jihad hate us sure, because of freedom? Because of prosperity?
Once again here are Osamas problems with the West and reasons given for jihad, also his strategy.
"Bin Laden identified the insurgency in Iraq as "a golden and unique opportunity" for jihadists to engage and defeat the United States."

With Al Queda and mujahideen resistance (Afghanistan), occupation seems first and foremost, with the U.S. and Soviets. Did they (leaders) hate the Soviets freedom and prosperity? No, it was the Soviet occupation.
Ron Paul does get it, just as this (Al Quada) is not a conventional enemy, the enemy should not be fought by conventional means (occupation/policing the world).
If any think Ron Paul is "soft on terror" or what have you, they have not read up on the man. It is STRATEGY, short term and long term. Going directly after the leaders, NOT policing the world. Promoting trade, NOT embargos.
We have to know the history and the exact whys, and the exact hows to deal with this enemy. If we don't, we aren't doing our soldiers right.
Just a thought, would any here be open to Mexican military bases in the U.S.? How bout if some of our population wanted them? Would I be peeved if Mexico took Minnesota and Wisconsin and made them a Mexican territory/nation? Would I give a rip about Mexicos freedom and prosperity or would Mexicos actions alone be the bain of my existence? What if walleye and cheese were holy to me?
Thanks, Bunkloco

“We, as a group, now have a greater moral responsibility to act than those who live in ignorance, once you become knowledgeable you have an obligation to do something about it.” Ron Paul
What nobody seem to get is that only the little people "hate" each other.
You recall all those bitter peasants on this side of the ocean hanging on to their bibles and guns? Well, their another bunch of angry peasants just like 'em on the other side of the ocean hanging on to their Korans and their guns.
Why do they hate us? Why do they want to kill us? For exactly the same reasons that we hate them and want to kill them.
It's because some politician who will never personally have to go anywhere to fight, and will certainly never send his own children to do so, has fed them/us a line of propaganda and lies to tell us we should.
Let's play school. We'll call our first lesson "What to tell the simple-minded to get them all worked up and hating each other".
1) They're different.
2) They (don't) believe in G_d/Allah.
3) They dress funny, and their women dress funny too..
4) They (don't) believe in democracy.
5) They (don't) like jews.
7) Blah, blah, blah.
Ultimately, it's all about who's in control, and about who will determine how oil flows.
And NEWS FLASH... It ain't never gonna be anybody who's operating on the fighting and dying level.
