I finally decided to go do my squirrel impression today. Ya know sittin a tree and scratch my nuts....
Anyhow, our deer season has been open since early September and today is the first chance I've had to get out.
Around 2:30, 2 fawns and a couple does walked by. Then about 3:30 a 3 point walked by. Just before dark another doe and 2 fawns came out, they were being chased by a spike. He was grunting up a storm.
I never even looked through the scope... Nice to see them but not nice enough to drop the hammer.
Finally decided to get in a tree

Yup, huntin' is a lot more than just dropping the hammer...
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

Well? How did I go?? Were you able to get your zipper down and scratch away? I find when hunting in cold weather with about 5 layers of clothes on I have a problem peeing.----6

Well Six I didn't have to scratch at all!
Was a delightful afternoon, saw deer, squirrels & birds, watched a Pilliated woodpecker destroy a fallen sassafras tree in his hungry. I always enjoy the sights when I'm out there. I'm sure that's a big part of why we all get in the woods- to observe the natural world.

That's why bow hunting is so enjoyable. You get to have all those "deery encounters" without firing a shot. I really enjoy just watching and you get to watch so much more when they are just out of range or come up in a spot you can't turn to.

Yep, "hunting" is the pie-a-la-mode of life. Taking game is akin to washing the dishes... now the work begins! But, it's knowledge that, after the next feast, it's someone else's turn to do the dishes, keeps me lusting after that kill!

I've never cotton'd to sitting in a tree. I've done it... during archery, but otherwise I'd rather walk Point and snap shoot.

I tried getting in a tree, but my wife started yelling when the ornaments fell off.
