Took a couple of levers to the range the other day, with my girlfriend. She's a new shooter and I'm just getting her used to shooting and how the guns work, safety, etc.
She really likes my Winchester/Miroku 1892 in .44 rem mag.
Brought that and my 1894 Cowboy Competition .45 LC color case hardened.
I made sure to only have one gun at the bench at any time, because I did not want to mix up the ammo.
I found it kind of funny how most were shooting Glocks, ARs etc. (I own a couple Glocks myself among other more tactical guns) and my lever guns sparked a lot of curiosity from range patrons, like they never knew they could be fun and were just old relics for stubborn hunters. Didn't realize they could be used for fun sporting purpose.
I felt bad about trying to police my brass though, it went everywhere with that Winchester 1892.

Re: Took the lever guns to the range
Sounds like a good time and good for you on getting another person shooting. I can get my wife to shoot about once a year. She may be coming around though, a lot of her friends are carrying handguns these days so you never know. I just can't push the issue, that won't go over well.
Those ejectors on the '92s sure can toss the brass around.
The gun club I belong to is a pretty eclectic bunch so you just never know what someone is going to pull out to shoot with. I was out a couple weeks ago and a guy showed up wit a custom Mare's leg that was a real beauty. He was all rigged out with hat, boots and really nice gun belt and holster for it. I was "working" and couldn't stick around to see how it shot but I did get my hands on it. Pretty cool!

Sounds like a good time, nice to know you're teaching your girlfriend how to use proper firearms too.....

Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

If you get the DVD and spring from stevesgunz.com the shells will drop in a neat pile off your right foot.
Kind regards,

By all means listen to Tycer, order the DVD and ejector spring. It will make all the difference in the world with your new rifle.
