I was fortunate enough to stumble across a pristine 4-3/4" bbl'd Frontier Scout alloy-frame/blued single action .22LR, made in 1969, @ an LGS last week, and managed to buy it for what IMO was a bargain ($250. ).
20 years ago up in IA, I had to make a choice between a mdl 94 Winchester OBFM in .30-30, made in 1922 or a Colt Frontier Scout... both for $500, or either for $250... It was the 1st mdl 94 from the early '20s that I bought... and my 1st OBFM, Lyman tang sight... but I still wish I'd bought that .22 Colt!
You stole it! 'Cause in 1996 I'd have been stealing that one at that price!

Great price.....remember, they don't make em anymore. That's better than money in the bank. You could throw it up in the air and by the time it came down, someone would buy it for more than that.
And Griff.......condition for condition, you made the right choice the first time....unless the 1894 was a real beater.---6
First handgun I ever shot. My dad has one with a Colt marked holster and gunbelt.
I bought one 20 years ago made in '62 with a magnum cylinder that's ANIB. I think I paid around the same as you did way back then.
I'd say you did pretty good.
The ones I've shot are really good shooters.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
Wow, that's a really nice one too. One like that would have gone for 4 to 5 hundred and the Wanamacher. The last one I had wandered off with some old redhead girl friend.

Thanks for the kind words, all - I'm thinkin' that I like it better than my Rugers, an(Old Model Bearcat .22LR & an Old Model RSSM-X (Single-Six Magnum, with an extra/fitted LR cylinder).
Thanks for the heads-up, on a Colt .22WRM cylinder @ Numrich, Fred !
