Thanksgiving - your list?

Post by JohndeFresno »

I have many things to be thankful for. But the primary one is quite obvious to me. Sadly, so many others just don't get it. But on balance, everything else is a far second to the main one.

In the Politics forum, since its message is clearly involved in that arena, you will see one answer in the thread:
"Thanksgiving Owed to God." You may wish to read it there. Who knows - it might get your gray matter to start churning!

(A) I woke up this morning.
(B) I haven't yet been deathly ill, or injured.
(C) I have adequate resources.
(D) My Daughter is successful, and happy.

As to the OP's intent, I have every reason to be hopeful that Those People will not much to do with We The People, at least for two more years.

Health, family, integrity, a nation more stable than most.

Some financial security would be a welcome addition, but is not something I'd trade any of the others for.

Pretty much how I feel...especially the part on the "sinner" :D

I would like to add that I am very thankful for the giant gun funnel in the sky that delivered me 2 model A Uzi's the other day. I looked outside a few hours ago and I saw the funnel hovering out in the pasture but not close enough to the house. I climbed a tree and peeked inside and I saw a Ma Deuce and an M-60 in there. I'll know in a few more hours after the bank calls. I tell ya....I'd like to thank the guy who runs that funnel. :D ----6

I don't remember last Thanksgiving so this one is that much better all ready.
Very happy that I'm still here with my beautiful wife and my great family and that she didn't sell any of my Winchesters last year!

I'm thankful my family and I are doing well and healthy.

Hunted all this month with my old dad. He does incredibly well. Every season is a gift to me.

All three sons have good jobs and still like to talk guns and shoot with the old man.

Life is good. I wish you all a great Thanksgiving.

For real, I'd like to but you have any idea what these things cost. I'm just dreaming.

BTW, where are you from? I can hook ya up with some neat stuff if the need comes.

CShold,
Yea, I'll agree with you to a point such as the Old Timer knife I bought with paper route money when I was 10 or 11.

Well, you know what they say.....money ain't everything but it sure is easier crying in a Mercedes than it is a Volkswagen. :D -------6

I saw that Griff. Ysable Kid also wants in the action.

Here's the problem........you and I are gettin' old and the eyes are getting worn out. It's a little tough putting scopes on single action Colts and 86 Winchesters. All kidding aside....I've pulled the trigger on a lot of guns in my time and I have had no where near enough trigger time to my satisfaction. Gets a little scarey when I think about it so if you get on up this way you can have all that worthless steel and then you and I can go to Philly and hit the classy T-bars!----6

I'm thankful that I'm retired at 62 and I would have driven out to Cumberland, Pa.to meet Griff but he turned the load down. It's about two hours or 100 miles from me. We could have driven into Harrisburg, picked up a couple of 6 packs and cruised over to the Shippensburg gunclub to bust a few caps...but...noooooooo.....Griff turned the load down. :D ------6

I'm thankful for the good company here, my family, and God's grace.

Went to the doc today, (he owns a gun store) and got a shot of Rooster Comb put in my knee this morning. Feels better already and I'm thankful for that.

Got a pacemaker this year that seems to be functioning properly. I have a good place to hunt, deer and turkey. If I could get down the bank there is piece of a big creek, 50 or 60 feet wide and 18 feet deep that has plenty of fish. Maybe a kayak in my future.

I have more than my share to be thankful for on this day! I retired Thanksgiving weekend in 2010, so that's always been a high point since then. But a couple years ago our oldest daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had to have treatment, and a double mastectomy. Then during treatment the home she was renting was sold by the owner, so she became homeless. Fast forward a year later, and she was in remission, and bought her first home with help from her mom and I.
Everything we were thankful for pales in comparison to healthy kids! We have 5 of them, and we are blessed to have them all doing well, and happy!

Alive and kicking.
Love my wife and kids.
Wife cured of Hep C from a post-delivery blood transfusion with Harvoni (thank you God, for Gilead Pharmaceuticals).
Lazy sinner and yet God still loves me, to steal a phrase from Blaine.
So thankful that when my stepson got a DUII a few weeks ago, going 56 in a 40 zone at 3 a.m. and with a BAC of .18, no one was injured or killed.
Our country is trying a new direction.

Frankly, I've had a pretty blessed life. My troubles and pains have been few. I can't say it's because I've always lived the best life, but I do try.

Thanksgiving to me is the giving of thanks to God for all I have, and that isn't a small thing.

So here wishing you all the blessings that God can bestow.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Perfectly said.

Every time I get down in the dumps, I just remember how many people have it worse off than me, and how blessed I truly am.

A lot to be thankful for!
