I just talked to his Lady of 35 years, and I'm saddened, and sorry to report that Robert died last may. I'd met with him in Prescott a couple time, and in addition to what we knew of him on this forum, he far surpassed the definition of Perfect Gentleman in person. I'll miss seeing him when I travel to AZ....

I looked up my pm with Mescalero and the last one was in July of 2014. Can't believe it has been that long, most of my pm's were with him. We had some good talks, reckon they made smoke for him.

Dang. I used to get on him somethin' terrible about his old rusted Jeep. IIRC, he was two years older than me so he died somewhat young....64?

Sad news.

:(
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Really sorry to hear. While I didn't know him well, it was easy to see he was a man to ride the river with.
Talked with him about his old Jeep and PM'd with him a few times.

Godspeed sir.

Blaine, This is where I read about your conversation About our Friend Robert. He indeed was a special man and I cherish the jewelry he sent to me. I didn't understand your comment about invisible ink.... so thought I would make sure you knew I read this post you made which saddened my heart greatly to read he has left us. again... thanks for letting us all know about Robert. He indeed had many friends~

I always imagined one day , I would do the same. makes me stop and think. I sure have a good life, but only free time is on weekends and not all of those.. still work 11 hours most days [ just turned 69 in November ] and with 4 kids in college, still going to work a while yet. makes me wonder if I will ever do most of the fun things I have been planning.....and postponing for so long.

and at my age the holidays always make me reflect on the friends that have gone on; holidays are much more melancholy than when I was younger and dumber.

WOW... I am in shock. I always considered Robert a friend and enjoyed the conversations we shared over the years both gun related and otherwise. I get distracted by life's many problems and forget about my friends here and this happens. Been to two funerals here locally in less than 2 months losing 2 longtime friends. One was my fishing/hunting buddy of over 40 years. Now Robert. I am running out of people I call friends. Apologies to all for being AWOL. Robert rests peacefully now.
