Getting Leverguns.com to update the picture situation

Post by daisygordoninc »

Who should I visit with about the "attach picture" device, it just doesn't work for me and others. I am part of other
forums and can post any picture I have on my computer, but this forum doesn't let me post most of my pictures.
This needs to be looked at by someone in charge.

Use a photo editing program to resize them. Less time for you to upload them... ad for them to load 'em!

The photo has to be on another server like photo bucket. There is a sticky about that on the home page.

All true, but Photobucket has been having serious problems with response times and outages.

IIRC it has to do with the BBS we use. We would need to change the entire format..."upgrade" with its own set of challenges and cost. Server size increases etc.
Kind regards,

I use the Photo Resizer app (free), 800x600ish.
Then send it to Imgur. Click link, then bbcode, which gives you their image link address.

Seems to be good so far.

Like Joe Miller, I haven't used Photobucket or another service in years -- size the pics to under 1000 pixels wide and they go in direct from the posting page. The downside is that they display smallish until the viewer clicks on the photo.

I upload images directly from my computer: This image is not on a server, and is no place but my hard drive. 8) I've never used photobucket. The DO have to be resized properly. No more than 1000 wide, or tall....

And? The point being that it didn't have to be on a server to get here in the first place. It's perfectly fine to use the [img]***[/img] feature to grab images from an outside server, but they still have to be sized properly to post. If it's too big, that's when you pull it onto your desktop and resize it, THEN put it on the "File Attachment" feature of this site.

I just resized a photo to less than 1000 x 1000 pixels and got a message that the picture was too large. System failure again for me.
