Actually, back when I used to drink enough likker to get a hangover, a very cold glass of milk was one of my best morning cures.

These days I still like it, next to coffee and beer it's probably my favorite drink.

Word of warning on cheap gas prices. Less at the pump, less $$ coming in for the tax collector(s). They /will/ be looking for other avenues to make up the difference.

With more people driving more fuel efficient cars, along with fewer miles being driven overall in the state, California is now looking at a way to tax drivers based on miles driven in a given year to boost revenues for road and transportation maintenance. So far, it's gone no further than trial balloon press releases from the state tax board, but.....

This is deep-blue Kali...with a deep-blue legislature and a deep-blue Governor. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we'll soon be required to report our odometer readings upon registering our vehicles each year. Stay tuned....

I find it amazing....

that cheap hamburger is priced the same or higher than roast.

I've heard that FDA regulations direct that beef products with a higher fat content are taxed at a higher rate.

That's why you can only get a really good cut of meat from a commercial entity like a restaurant.

Hey guys: I thought that diesel actually provided more energy than gasoline so I did a short Google search. The first site I saw showed that diesel provides 113% of the energy of gasoline (which is 100%). Therefore, maybe it is reasonable for diesel to be more costly.

This comparison, however, doesn't take into acccount other potentially important factors, like costs of production, efficiency of combustion, etc. etc.

Just something to think about when making these kinds of comparisons.

Why oh why don't we just convert everything to CNG? (compressed natural gas) Much cleaner burning, ridiculously cheaper, and we have SOOooo much of it. The guvmint has made it expensive to have your charging station but there is absolutely no reason behind it except to keep everyone from doing it. Think big oil had a hand in? Your engine will last 2 or 3 times as long on it too. Oil changes could be a thing of the past. You don't need catalytic converters. The litany goes on.
