Old friend was visiting from out of state, we decided to go the desert for some prairie dogs. Didn't find a whole lot, in two days of shooting we each got about 75 shots which was enough to keep us interested. PD population has still only recovered maybe 40% of the area they covered before the last plague infestation of about 5-6 years ago. Anyway, a good time was had by all..
Left camp before sunup.
Typical scene of hunting area.
The quarry..
Taking a shot.
Shared the desert with these guys.
On the way home..

I was shooting a Savage model 23D , .22 Hornet and a CZ 527, .22 Hornet. I like the old Savage better.
Friend had a Mauser 98, 22-250, nice old rifle he built in gunsmith school decades ago, DST and a Weaver 8X scope with the exterior adjustments , I think they only made them for a bout a year back in the 50's.
Old geezers shooting old geezer's guns. Still fun.
Oregon Buttes? Looks kinda familier..but that high desert looks a lot like the high desert on our side of South Pass.. (Pinedale, Pigs Hiney ...er. ...Big Piney)..
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!
I was born a gun owner.
It wasn't a choice.
I didn't become one later in life.
I was born this way.

Way South of the buttes, but we go past them to get there
