"The Sound of Silence" (music video)

Post by Old No7 »

I've been introduced to some great new music and artists from others on here, so hopefully someone here will like this one too.

"The Sound of Silence" is a classic song for sure... But this rendition is simply awesome!!!

Who else would have added kettle drums to the mix???
Click for "The Sound of Silence" Video

This video is by Disturbed, described by others as: "The Chicago, Illinois metal band Disturbed has successfully mixed aggressive riffs and vocals with a melodic approach to form a winning formula that has earned the band a large global following."

Even if you don't like metal bands I highly encourage you to at least give the video a listen...

This version really brings out the power and depth of the awesome lyrics, even better than the original I think. And that's saying a lot.

Hope you enjoy it!

Nice arrangement, and use of different instruments. The vocalist's voice goes a bit too much "Scooby" on occasions.

I posted a link to the "Official Music Video" quite a while ago...

And I agree. I think it's actually a more powerful rendering than Simon & Garfunkle came up with.

My auditory music theory module is faulty... Did Disturbed just shift the song by a Minor Third and run the harmonics off that?

Regardless, it's better.
