I dunno.
The guy put a lot of effort into making an obvious gun-free zone.
It's highly likely that dead guy at the end came in unarmed and when the girl found the gun laying loose on the floor, she picked it up and the evil in it made it go off accidentally.

They really do believe that if you take all the guns off the good guys, the bad guys won't want to have them either, and wouldn't know where to get them from anyway.
I've actually seen well educated university graduates who believe that fairy tale.
My own children believe that the only thing that keeps my house safe is the fact that my guns and ammo are locked away in separate storage.
There is a concerted brainwashing campaign being waged against us by the media, government, schools, and others. I'm afraid we will be the last generation of free people. After us a whole generation of meek sheeple will roam the earth seeking sanctuary from armed hoards and tyrannical governments.
