There use to be a muzzle loading 22 made back in the 70s. It was percussion and had a turret type action which fired paper caps the kind used in toy guns.I think it was sold by Rocky Mountain arms at the time

Ed Rayl makes .25 barrels which is about a .22 once you add a patch. Most guys use ffffg for the main charge instead of fffg. The biggest problem with that small of a round ball is the wind effects. Doesn't take much to cause it to drift.

Re: Sort of a muzzleloading 22....
This is solved by using .22 Airgun pellets... which, IMEX work better than ball or the swaged bullets available for the NAA .22 C&B Minis - so should work a treat in a .22 ML rifle. (and I have never has a pellet lose its skirt)hondo1892 wrote:Ed Rayl makes .25 barrels which is about a .22 once you add a patch. Most guys use ffffg for the main charge instead of fffg. There was a fella selling a .20 smoothbore a couple of months ago on American Longrifles. Used .177" airgun pellets and the tiniest pinch of powder.
