Slam-fire...!

Post by AJMD429 »

Kinda cool improvised item if in a desperate situation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVhceWZiYPQ

Obviously "that's not SAFE...!" - but it's the kind of stuff lots of kids were doing when I was a young'un.....

Similar, though even more simple pipe guns were being posted around the blogosphere a year or two ago. a guy named prepperkip or similar did several on youtube. No stock or handle, just the pipe pieces and cap. Looks like fun, and I thought may be a way to stash an inexpensive emergency gun in outbuildings or such, where you may not want to leave a real gun, but could find the need for one.

One of the links in the vid you posted had a homemade hoverbike. Hmm,....I looked at it, the hoverbike was crazy enough, but if you watch the ending of the guys video he shows short clips of other insane things he made, like Wolverine claws that pop out, spiderman-esque flame throwers attached to his wrists, a 50 mph baby carriage, magnet shoes that he walked upside down in his garage with. Guy is a lunatic. Looks like hes having a lot of fun also!

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

That hoverbike looks promising, actually - imagine if the Wright Brothers had gone that direction instead...!

My uncle brought a slamfire gun back from North Africa after WWII. He said the barrel was a steering column from a US Jeep. I forget the chambering.

The parts shown in the youtubes are plain hardware store stuff. 3/4" pipe for a 12 ga barrel, and I think a 1" pipe for the receiver. The cap is screwed on with a small screw through the center for a firing pin. Could also glue washers with screw in the cap.

Welllllllll, so much for that. I don't have a 12 gauge shot gun, wonder if a home made one is legal for hunting in IN?

FWIW that kid is a friend of Mark Serbu who builds .50 cal rifles near me in Tampa. Mark Serbu made the news a few years ago when he refused to sell one of his .50 cal sniper rifles to the NYPD on the grounds that a normal citizen in NY can't own one so they couldn't buy one either.

I like the way Serbu thinks; kind of like Randy Barrett... 8)
