How's this for up close?

Driving the scenic Coast Hwy 101 on the way to our daughter's house today. My wife yells stop!!! And I see a sign that reads, "Elk Meadow Cabins". Sitting in the lawn near the cabins was this crowd! Close enough to pet them, but we refrained from getting touchy feely! Just taking their mid day siesta!

That's what we thought too! I guess the elk liked the name also!

Went through there a couple weeks ago. The elk can often be seen from there all the way up to Smith River, and a few spots north of Gold Beach, OR, especially around Sixes...

Had my pocket knife out, but wife wanted to get to traveling again; so had to leave before the BBQ!
