DIY Primer Reloading

Post by Panzercat »

King of Random is a fairly popular youtube channel with a lot of improvised content; some useful, some not so. Still, it surprises me what you can stumble upon in his archives-- Anything from back yard forges to easy to make solid rocket fuel. This particular installment is slightly more relevant to us: Do it yourself primer reloading via match sticks.

The process is very nearly painless and can be accomplished with the most basic of tools. It's probably not something you would want to engage in regularly, but would seem viable in a pinch if reloading supplies went through the roof in price or sold out. Or you just want to have a bit of fun.

I"ve played around with those match tips as a replacement for a percussion cap on MLs....the theory is sound if a tad unpredictable.
