Had a very good show. Bought a few, sold a few and came home with about the same amount I went with. Got to meet a fellow forum member and made some new friends. Good weekend with 3 of my sons.
If you have never been it is just unimaginable the quantity and quality of the guns displayed. 4200+ tables in one 11 acre building with heat and air.
Sorry about giving the wrong number on my invitation post. My mind just doesn't work as well as it once did.
There are some tables on each end and near he big doors that are Saturday morning set-up and must be packed up by 3:00. Also many exhibitors come great distances and want to get an early start for home on Sunday. Friday is the big day for dealers. You too can buy a special badge that lets you come in and roam about on Friday but I don't know how much it costs.

Re: After action report on Wanenmacher
Thank you for the report. That is an amzing show.
I attended a few years ago, but missed the only guns of interest at the time- two different Belgian made .405 double rifles; I handled them both and they handled like 20 gauge double guns; very nice. They were about the weight of my 1895 TD .405 rifle. When I went back, both were sold!
In retrospect, they were both too light for the .405 cartridge and that now that I have a 10 pound .405 double rifle that has almost no felt recoil, I am glad that I did not buy one of the slick little Belgian made rifles. Waiting for just the right deal cost me a few years, but it was worth the wait.

Re: After action report on Wanenmacher
Yeah, I always go, spring and fall. Unfortunately, I believe the prices are getting stupid high on a lot of stuff, but there are a few reasonable deals sprinkled around if you get lucky.
I have found it a good place to shop for the old classic side by side shotguns or Winchester Leveractions.
I didn't buy any guns this time. Frankly, I just wasn't looking all that hard, since I had already bought several guns this year.
I did find a nice set of sandbar stag grips for a Super Blackhawk, and some ammo and brass for my Dan Wesson 10mm 1911, and I bought a fairly clean Leupold Vari-X III 2.5 x 8 scope, and I like the older Vari-X models better then the some of newer stuff. And I found a nice tooled heavy duty leather belt at a fair price.

One of the guys on the Parker forum posted this !
Nice old Parker PH 8 gauge made in 1903 .
Only thing was they were asking $17,000 which is a bit more then I could afford .

I like those stags. They'd sure be purty on my old three screw SB.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
