A good day

Post by hondo1892 »

My day went pretty well. Last night after church I was setting and sorta watching TV and a thought came to me. Those don't come that often now days. I posted a couple photo's of my work on a for sale site that members of the CLA can use. Contemporary longrifle association that is. Well today I must of had eight or ten guys contact me about building rifles for them. I had to take my posting down. I don't want to get too baked up. So if half these guys do put in orders I figure that will keep me busy until next June or so. I usually just get orders by word of mouth but things kinda slowed and I could see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. So I figured I might get a half dozen emails for the hole week. Boy was I wrong. That happens to me a lot. Just ask my wife.
So not much work was done on the little squirrel rifle today. But I did manage to get the trigger guard brazed together and the front return inletted. I hope I can get the nose cap made up tomorrow and that will take care of all the hard parts to make.
I finished the day off by running three new Chip McCormick mags through the old Colt Commander and three cylinders of .45 LC's through my USFA Rodeo. Life is good. P.S. I could breath well all day too.

Reckon the Lord was waiting for you to heal up some and then send you some work.

Good to hear! :D

The pollen is still thick here. Not helping the recovery at all!

The rifle looks spectacular!
