Life well Lived.

Post by .45colt »

A long retired Friend of ours passed away this morning. Dennis W. was a Fire Fighter/ EMT. Father to several Children many Grand children. Devoted Husband. He was 81. Dennis was a Life long Hunter, Fisherman, and Gun fancier. I only knew Him for about 12 years but We had a Great time. At Family events We could sit for hours talking any thing outdoors. He had a couple of rough years with hip problems and surgery and recurrent infections from them.
Five years ago He had an estate sale with some of His Firearms being auctioned off at the end of the day. He loved Savage 99's and I think He had them in every caliber made, He also had many Winchester 88's several new in the box. There must have been 75 people come from near and far for the Gun Sale. The bidding was hot and heavy especially on the 88's. Dennis later told Me He took in over 19k from it.
I will Miss Him Dearly but We no longer see Him in pain. Rest Well My Friend.

Friendships can develop over years, or instantly if two people click. It's always sad to lose a friend, but having quality time with someone you enjoy is great! I'm sure you'll always have those memories!

Dennis was in a Nursing home/rehab for over two years. We went over and had Dinner a few times with Him and His Wife when He was able. several times I snuck a cold Beer in, the first time He about flipped it tasted so Good. One nurse came by, He had wrapped the beer in a paper towel trying to hide it. The nurse came over to the table looked right at it and said I know what's going on Here, The She walked away. never said a word. :) .
