24 hrs of Daytona

Post by RIHMFIRE »

Went to 24 hour race in Daytona last weekend with my BIL
Walked through the pits before the race with all the cars, drivers, and Fox Sports1
Had access to the entire course and stadium...a lot of walking....+/-3 1/2 mile course
Corvettes.....ran 1 and 2 in the gtlm class ....they were team mates and after 24hrs of racing he won by a fender....3'
There were ford gts, lamborghinis, ferraris, porches, audis, vipers, aston martins, and a bunch of open class cars....of which i dont know the brand...
The overall winner was a honda....a ******* honda....that does not look like any honda i have seen
Very cool race for the first couple of laps after the green flag or restarts...heres some short videos that not do it justice...

I'm gonna be in the PI the day of the 500 !

While I am happy to be going to see the family and my new grandson I still like to see Daytona LIVE !
Parkers , Mannlicher Schoenauer’s , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines !

Very cool. 8)

Always been fascinated with endurance racing, both automobile and
motorcycle. An interesting combination of speed, consistency, reliability,
economy, luck, and ingenuity is required to get to the end first. And some
skill on both the drivers' and crew's parts.
