Need help on a value for this gun

Post by barbarossa »

Thinking on making an offer on this , a Heym marked prewar or postwar rifle.Gun has a few dings in the stock ,nice bore but someone electric engraved their name on the floor plate .I wonder about the stock safety as the action still has the three position military safety and the trigger guard has a hole which was probably for a sling swivel, that makes me think that the barreled action might of been added to a earlier stock.Trying to figure out what a fair offer would be.Also I don t want the scope so my offer would reflect that

Greener safety added so it could be used with a scope. Interesting answer to the problem.

.

For some reason, it appears that somebody installed a military floorplate & bottom metal on a commercial rifle - which is easily swapped out or altered to something more sporting.

I would opine that the chambering & the bore condition would effect it's value, +/-.

If it wasn't chambered for a European cartridge (excepting 6.5x55 Swede) I'd put about $400-$450 into it.

The cal is 30/06.I figure it probably had double set triggers at one time and someone removed for some reason

Not fond of the scope, too new, needs one more period correct or the chambering (personal preference) but I could live with it. Otherwise that's a dang good looking rifle.
