New Henry Products.
The other thread about the new offering from Henry got Me looking around their homepage. I think they have been listening to what people think. They are coming out with a CC 45-70 that looks very good. hope they are on the rack soon. https://www.henryrifles.com/new-rifles/
Re: New Henry Products.
I've been coon fingering Henrys for a long time. They all are real nice. I guess that top loading thing rubs some the wrong way, but it doesn't bother me. That .223 lever coming out later this year could be a real winner.

I wonder how they are going to handle the pointy bullet in a tubular mag thang...

BlaneG, am I missing something? I couldn't see any top loading rifles in their lineup. Most that I saw loaded through a port in the magazine tube none through the top of the action like a bolt gun.

Top of the mag tube, then? That's what I meant....Hawkeye2 wrote:"I guess that top loading thing rubs some the wrong way, but it doesn't bother me."

Re: New Henry Products.
That'd be the MSRP, but as with most guns dealers offer them at some pretty decent discounts. I paid $900 for my Uberti, (which was a REALLY good price at the time, better'n $300 off MSRP), but was a personal favor from the owner of the import house, who I'd known for 25+ years at the time, and had bought a number of guns from. Current pricing of the brass framed version is an MSRP of $2300 yet they're listed at Bud's for as low as $1712. I would expect a similar discount for the Iron-Framed version. If it were a "Trapper" or carbine length one, I'd really be all over it!Daisyman wrote:Me too, but $2795.00?? Whew!!Griff wrote:Their Iron Framed Henry interests me. Things have sure changed, haven't they! "..... a MSRP of $2300 yet listed at Bud's for as LOW AS $1712". How many short years back would you have to go before if you told someone you were going to buy a lever gun and its' DOWN to $1712 they would have looked at you like you were off your rocker?Griff wrote:That'd be the MSRP, but as with most guns dealers offer them at some pretty decent discounts. Maybe your friend can hook you up on one of these, too!! I guess, though, if I had my druthers, I'd rather have the Uberti.
Re: New Henry Products.
Ok, I thought that might be what you meant. I have a Rossi .454 and I consider that one of the greatest safety improvements ever incorporated in a lever gun. I have been using lever guns since before I was a teen but the possibility of an accident while levering shells through one always concerned me as well as seeming to be an inefficient way to empty the gun.BlaineG wrote:Top of the mag tube, then? Just press down hard on the loading gate, and the shells should come out one at a time....Hawkeye2 wrote:Ok, I thought that might be what you meant. Especially coming in out of the cold with numb/gloved fingers and fogged glasses, it's nice to just unscrew the 'tube' and dump 'em all out...Hawkeye2 wrote:Ok, I thought that might be what you meant. Re: New Henry Products.
Didn't somebody say they were going to be mag fed? Though I wouldn't mind a Savage 99 internal rotary mag system either.BlaineG wrote:I wonder how they are going to handle the pointy bullet in a tubular mag thang...![]()
I liked the option for the short time I had my Rossi... The key word being "option", however.AJMD429 wrote:Especially coming in out of the cold with numb/gloved fingers and fogged glasses, it's nice to just unscrew the 'tube' and dump 'em all out...Hawkeye2 wrote:Ok, I thought that might be what you meant. I just can't get along with no loading gate, and filling them up like a rimfire rifle. Just my personal opinion, but I just don't care for the looks and lines of any of them.

Me either. Other than the "Original", I don't like any of their current models. And I don't like the price of them when I can get a clean, used Uberti for half that much. Each to his own, I guess.TedH wrote:I just can't get along with no loading gate, and filling them up like a rimfire rifle. I am curious to see the new models. I've owned one BLR in .308 but they just don't appeal to me anymore. Only scoped lever I have has a scout scope on it so I don't really need the longer range of a pointy bullet.
