Off duty American Servicemen disarm terrorist in Europe

Post by Canuck Bob »

Still early so some facts may change. BBC has the best details at this time.

Apparently they recognized the sound of the terrorist loading his rifle in the toilet and confronted him when he opened the door. One Soldier is reported to be shot, God Bless!

Edit: much more accurate details are now available and outlined below.

I can't imagine Marines doing anything less....What did the French expect them to do? Lie down and die like sheep?

Not gonna happen.

Unlike their Commander-in-Chief, our servicemen/women do not cower in the face of this country's or freedom's enemies. France will probably give them medals, Obummer will want to charge them with something.

Except they weren't marines. One Oregon Natl Guardman and one Airman. I guess a couple of marines makes it a better story.

Link? I haven't seen anything in print identifying them as anything other than Americans.

EDIT: This one calls them soldiers but probably thinks all servicemen are.

Hobie posted this updated info on facebook: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ailymailus

An airman, national guardsman, a California guy, and a Brit were all involved in subduing the would be murderer. Yep, France gave 'em medals. And, gosh, Obummer also praised their bravery... wonders never cease!

Okay, this is definitely a trend when Brits & Americans save Frenchmen 3 times in a row

This is an AK47. It makes a distinctive noise when being loaded in the toilet of a French train...

Okay, then let's change that to doing what American military personnel do. Point is that GI's regardless of service tend to act when others cower.

It is important to note that a brit was also involved. Our Canadian Parliamentary Sergeant of Arms responded in particularly brave and deadly fashion when our Parliment was under terrorist attack. Neither man chose to cower.

I got a kick out of the Brit in an interview. He said he figured he was going to die anyway so why not die doing something.
