vaquero holster ( couple of pics added )
Built my wife this holster today, I think she'll like it
She likes shiny stuff and cow skulls, well cow stuff in particular, there's more holstein colored stuff here than on a dairy
Fit is very tight really don't need a thong but I may put one on it anyway
If any of the leather smiths here see anything I could do better at on these holsters I make, please let know

This ones a 357
She most always shoots 38 special
The 357 loads ain't powder puffs that for sure, they do seem to be a little awkward to hang on to

Yes, very professional looking job. Congrats! I am sure she will love it.
Re: vaquero holster
Looks pretty good.
In Elmer Keiths book Sixguns, he talks about holsters some. He liked them to be snug at the point where the trigger guard rests on the holster, and that the holster should be snug around the cylinder and frame of the gun at that point, snug enough that the gun wont come out if turned upside down, and should take an effort to pull it. I've found that to be pretty good advice in the holsters I've made and used, even if they have a strap to retain the gun.
If a holster loosens up in time, it can be snugged up at that same point by several stitches there, or with a deerskin string tied or laced into itself tightening it up. It requires a hole punched there, but I've used the deerskin string idea on a couple and it works.

Very, very nice. The cow horns remind me of Hopalong Cassidy's scarf holder.

I really like the metal studs, dresses it up some, without being over the top. Very nice!
How much for one that will fit a Ruger Blackhawk 44mag with the 4 5/8th length barrel?

Re: vaquero holster
Yes, very nice. Since you asked about maybe some improvement, you might try to burnish the cut edges of the leather. Makes them look a little more finished. I burnish all my edges. Darkens them and smooths them to a harder finish. But nice work.

Re: vaquero holster. ( couple of pics added. )
Here is the first belt holster combo I built, I learned one thing, I'll never ever ever sew 22 loops again, I made a chisel to cut slots and lace the loops through
