Cool map although hard for old eyes to read, even with the (+). Chicago Burlington and Quincy along with the Fremont, Elkhorn, and Missouri Valley are intresting subjects on the history of Wyoming. A rail history that is not well known beyond the "Hell on Wheels" UP across southern Wyoming.

Now that is cool. One of the lines runs by our place and I've got photos from about 1885 on.

Very cool, thanks for sharing that. However, I don't believe it to be entirely accurate. There is a leg of track missing that runs though some family property that I know was there during the civil war. My Dad told me a story that his Grandfather told him about the Confederates derailing the train that was being used by the Union Army where my Uncle owns the property now. There have been several folks over the years come and see what they can find with metal detectors and I remember one guy found some ammo of some sort. Don't remember exactly what it was though, I was very small at the time, but just old enough to be interested in it.

Dang evidence that the world is flat. Them trains just dropped off the edge of the world when you get to Colorado or New Mexico or Wyoming.

For maps and any eyes the MR Sid file format is ideal...

On the bottom of the text column on the left you can download the map and the viewer, gratis. It is a wonderful site and an incredible resource.
