Updated: MY new Marlin 1895
24" half-octagonal / half-round barrel
Marbles rear and front sight
Full length mag tube
Pistol Grip Checkered stock and forearm with forearm cap.
Here she is. Picked it up just a few moments ago.
It's never been fired or loaded, and looks almost 100%. It really is a beautiful rifle.
24" of a whole lotta' "thump"
Can't wait to get out and put a few down the pipe.

...and I don't think he even knows it...Walks around with a half-assed grin...If he feels fear, he don't show it. Just rides into hell and back again.

Sounds like a LTD V by Davidson and, if so, will have a 24" barrel.
Daggummit Jayhawker !!!!
I just saw your old post (ca. 2005) on Marlinowners, that shows all your LTDs.
All I can say is WOW!!!
Thanks.
I'm going to go pick it up this morning. The seller says it's like brand new. He doesn't think it's ever been shot.
Also, about what year were these produced?
I don't reload for 45/70 yet, but for such a good looking rifle I don't think I can pass it up.

meanc,
Those aren't all mine, but one can dream . I borrowed the pic some time ago with permission from someone I've long since forgotten to show others the differences in the LTD line. The question comes up often enough that the picture comes in fairly handy. It's one of those occasions where a picture is really worth 1,000 words. I only have the V, the latest one.
I've also used the pic on several occasions to ask Davidsons why they can't do the same in different chamberings. I'd love to see them do the same in 444 or 30-30.

That is a nice looking rifle. I should have bought 1 when they were available. I also like the 18.5 full mag octogon version. I have thought of cutting down my cowboy to 22 inches, but it still wouldn't be half oct, half round. I think they made 5 different version's of this limited series (I might be wrong). Again nice rifle good luck with it.

It's definitely a nice rifle and comes to the shoulder nicely.
I just wish the rear sight was a little different. It seems the u-notch and v-notch are just a tad too shallow for my liking.
I may just stick an old Win 94 rear sight on it, like I did my 1894CB in 45colt.
