What is this young woman holding....????
Read about it HERE. The question is whether her looks will be enough to outweigh the inevitable 'outrage' [ ] from the traditionalists...

My attention, or a Marlin model 795 with a can and shortened stock for when she is wearing a jacket

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Well so busy looking at both sights, didn't realize you had the answer right there
Didn't realize it was a bullpup design, too busy looking at the action

Different I'll say...........but not too good for me, a left handed shooter. I can just feel those hot little cases poking me in the ear and running down my back.------6

"He shot the rifle left-handed, illustrating why the ejecting empties didn’t bother him. Between the unusual head position and the charging handle acting as a brass deflector, no casings came anywhere near his face."

Your right Doc.....I wrote before I put my brain in gear. When I looked at the short stock ....well....you know.......didn't think about the overall ergonomics of this rig.
I still don't like it. I guess when you reach a certain age, your mind closes up. Not enough wood and blued steel on that gun.------6

Interesting but like Sixgun it just doesn't float my boat. I much prefer a 9422

New gun and stock configurations are interesting, but in my mind there must be a functional purpose for the 'improvement'.
Here's the question: Why?
I don't see the shortened stock to be an advantage in this case, and the photograph of the gentleman shooting offhand looks uncomfortable and inefficient. As was mentioned earlier, a more natural mount would place the shooters cheek directly on the action.
Perhaps additional molding to create an actual platform for a solid cheek weld would work for the right-hand shooters, but lefties would be using their mouth as a brass catcher.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

I think personally I'd rather do the 'tactical' thing with a Ruger 10/22 anyway; more options already available, and integrally suppressed barrels too...

Re: What is this young woman holding....????
I do think it is ugly but the WHY is because with the can and a full length stock it would not be as handy. Bullpup-ing is the only way to shorten it and still use a 16" barrel without going the SBR route. ( $200 on each end then not to mention the additional paperwork)ollogger wrote:On the gun only am with FWiedner WHY?
