they were also looking into doing a mag feed 1100 .. yep want one
I think you're right. I've been looking at getting a Saiga to play with and one of the "problems" I've uncovered in my reading is that you can't store the regular box mags loaded for long periods of time. The pressure applied by the follower spring causes the plastic shells to "flatten" out after a while causing feed jams. I think those rotary drums would be the berries tho.

May your rifle always shoot straight, your mag never run dry, you always have one more round than you have adversaries, and your good mate always be there to watch your back.

Heres a post i did when i built 2 of these and just yesterday i spent 2 boxes of shells trying to get them to work correctly. The shell comes up different every time and will sometimes jam. ended up greezing the breech of the barrel and end of the receiver so no matter what it will slide in not get stuck.I was going to toss them both over the hill twice.
The mags they sell now made just for them mite help but i won't put ant more cash in mine. They look good for pictures. I will post some of the range day later but here is the old post.
Took 1/2 hour to build the first gun and 2 days to make it function .mag would not feed.
second gun took 1/2 hour done ready to go.
This is a slick action and the mag is long but gun is balanced better now then before. puts the weight in the center. There was no directions on the mag conversion.the follower and shell holder had to be changed, and lots of fitting to get it to feed without all the sells just coming loose in the mag.Pooped off the lip and had to be filed sanded to work. at$35 a mag that was scary.
The long 1 i built for a friends birthday this monday so i was cutting it close. Had the kits for weeks.$145 a gun to do counting the new saiga mag pro mag.
You guys realize that any repeating arm is magzine fed, right?

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

Interesting conversion. Sure does take away from the nice compact slim profile a 500 defender. If I was going to give that up I think I would want semi-auto function. Sure does look neat though.

I have a 12ga 870 Tactical that I got from a fellow Forumite. Has a couple of wallet-type ammo pouches and a full tube. No need for anything else. This is one reason I'm not all gung-ho on an EBR right now.
