Unertl Scopes Questions??

Post by ohiochuck »

Looking at 2 Unertl scopes of the same model which lens(es) determines the power (6X;10X)?
If one scope is in excellent condition and the other less so, can the lenses be switched to be used in the better condition scope?
Thanks!

I would think if you took a scope apart, you would lose the inert gas that is inside them.....

If you have access to a mig or tig it's real easy to put the gas back in it. Argon or argon/Co2 mix are perfect. I have a couple bottles of Nitrogen I use when I take one apart.

I have no idea about changing the power of scopes.

If you are talking about an external adjustable Unertl, then there is NO inert gas in anything. It is not sealed. And you can swap parts, but whether it will work sorta depends.

Which Unertl - there are gazillion of them, give or take a few.

I have a EoTech that I had to take apart and would like to re-nitrogenize it; how do you get the gas IN the scope, and do you have to do anything to deal with condensation from the cooling effect of expanding nitrogen...?
