My Christmas Rifle

I might as well share my new toy, here is my Christmas Levergun, Uberti 1876 in 45-75WCF. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years.

Nice rifle! :D I really like your photo, and will look forward to seeing some range reports.

I have one in .45-60; it's a real hoot to shoot with black powder, but I get better accuracy using smokeless.

I'm waiting on a Lee Factory Crimp Die, should be here next week. This rifle has the larger "Uberti Chamber", from all I've read about it, one gets a few extra grains of BP in the case. I'm not much of a black powder shooter, but do have some APP in the powder room, so I'll give it a try.
The rifle feels really good on the shoulder, it's got some heft to it for sure. I'll probly have to get something better for the front sight in the future, kinda hard to see.

Beautiful, and I thought I liked older cartridges! It is amazing how many cartridges there was in the early cartridge days. Seems a lot like our constant proliferations of cartridges today.

That's really beautiful.....I hope you'll take it out and get some "character" on it...I'd be scared of messing it up :oops:
