Marlin 1894 Cowboy Special
I've been looking at a Marlin 1894 Cowboy Special in .44 Mag. It is a short 20" octagonal barrel, straight stock, no checkering and has the cross bolt safety. It seems to be in almost perfect condition, except I suspect the buttstock has been refinished, as the finish on the buttstock is dull, whereas the finish on the forearm is more glossy. Can anyone clue me in to whether or not these are good rifles, and perhaps what one might be worth? Thanks!
