ahhh,

c'mon Fred, you are being a pessimist. Marlin an Hornaday would not have went to the trouble they did just to come short of the 300 Savage........

Congratulaitons on the Renegade. I suggest you contact TC; they replaced fpr no charge a stock on one of their rifles that a fellow I knew sent in that had been damaged.

Interesting. Looks about like my 30-30 Ackley data. Has anyone measured the 308 ME water capacity?

Never understood the need/want for the cartridge myself. Seems a little rediculous.

Sure, it's goes about 400fps faster than factory 30-30 out of a 20" lever,
but then you need to purchase and lug around a 24" barreled rifle to use it and spend almost $20 for the ammo.

Not only that, but it's only going about 200 fps faster than the 30-30 Leverevolution that came out, another one that you also need a 24" barrel for just to get the velocity they list.

Plus, when a factory 180gr out of a 30-06 is going as fast as their factory 160 gr out of a cheaper, shorter, and handier rifle, it seems more rediculous

Jim,

I wish I could find a complete rifle for $140 now. This NIB barrel was $100.
