B-92's worth?

Post by Thunder50 »

Have a pair of Browning B-92's, one in 357mag and the other a 44 mag, that I am thinking of sending down the road to another home. Wondering what they might be worth?
The 357 has had some rust on the buttplate that I cleaned up with steel wool and some dings on the buttstock. From the action forward its in great shape.
The 44 is just in great shape, probably a 90% or a bit better gun. Two dings on the buttstock is about it.

Thought about selling them as a pair.

Just wondering

Thanks

Get more money by splitting them. The 357s bring 200-400 more than the 44s, depending on location and condition. More people have enough money to buy one, than two.

Pictures help, but it is entirely dependent on the market you intend to sell in. I'm cash poor, so no offer from me (and I have the 44 version already) .

Couple years ago I sold my 44 for $700 and my .357 for $950. I wouldn't budge on either one and someone else still wanted them more than me at the time.
Might bring more than that by 30-40% nowdays. I haven't watched them lately.

I reviewed the "completed" and actually "sold" listings over on gunbroker.

Depending on condition (and box, paperwork, etc) the 44mag is ranging from $650-$850 and the 357 mag is in the $800-$1100.

You can buy an original Winchester 1892 "shooter" for $800-$1100 now, but not in those calibers.

.

FWIW, it's not too hard to find a .44 B-92 F/S, but one in .357 is fairly scarce - why the difference in value.

I have B92 in 44 mag as new inthe box. Here locally I have had 2 offers to buy at 850 and 900. It all depends upon location. Note, the "Blue Book" is only a guide.
Best of luck.

All good advice. If I were you, I'd put them on Gun Broker and you should be very pleased with the results. I have one of each and they are my favorite lever guns (for range use).

Good luck!!

That's a winchester. But reasonable price.

It's a recently-made Japchester - I agree, a very reasonable price.

There's a large difference in desireability between a safety'd-up Miroku M-92 and a Browning B-92, favoring the Browning's.

Byron,
Thanks for the correction. I was thinking about the thread title. $850 is a good price and it's made in the Miroku plant just like the Browning. One's a short rifle and one's a carbine.

A NIB B-92 will bring 1200 or more since they are no longer made. People pay a small fortune to have the rebounding hammers and tang safety removed from the later Miroku/Winchesters. I've got a 1892 Winchester made by Miroku probably 20 years or more ago, and it had the tang safety at one time. Still has the rebounding hammer.

850 is still a good price on that one you listed.
