Ever dream about a gun?

Post by Bill in Oregon »

I dreamed last night that I somehow came into a Marlin 1894 CL in .32-20. I even looked through the aperture peep. Imagine my disappointment when I woke up and realized it just wasn't so!

I can't remember dreaming about a gun but if I do the Marlin 1894cl in .32/20 would be fine by me.

In all my dreams about guns, things are going from bad to worse and I can't get my weapon to fire.

Funny you mention that...

I often go to sleep not by 'counting sheep', but by 'counting guns' (i.e. 'how many 22 rifles have I owned since age 4...?' or 'how many guns do I have that shoot 0.308" bullets...?').

The more-fun one is thinking hard about 'which gun-I-don't-own-yet is the next most essential...?'... 8)

If Bill is dreaming about a gun I suspect that gun will show up on his doorstep for a visit sometime in the near future.

One of my 32/20's (the savage bolt acquired via jdad) went to the favorite gravel pit with grandkids on Sunday and the li'l varmints emptied out all my loaded rounds. Fortunately I have an eager 8-year old who got half-way done with reloading the batch on Sunday evening and will be back this afternoon to finish. Unfortunately this old leverguy is letting impressionable grandkids become overfond of bolt guns.

There must be something addictive about those danged old 32/20's.

Earl, good for you! Wish I still had that little Savage bolt gun in .22 Hornet ...
No Marlin CLs on the horizon, I am afraid ...

I do quite often. Usually the dreams involve me needing the gun I have in a bad way, and it is failing me somehow. Last one I remember was a large vicious looking dog bearing down on me with ill intent, I drew a bead on him as he was closing in, and the trigger of my 45 cal. Glock wouldn't pull.

Seems to be a common dream for a gun not to work when you need it to...I've had a couple of those dreams as well, with even my revolvers not working when the trigger is pulled. I wonder what Freud would say... :P

Sadly, just the other night, born out of exaustive research on what the next carry gun I'm about to buy will be.

I've had that dream too..............about half the time I wake up so upset I puke in the waste basket and have shakes for 20 minutes. Adrenaline I guess.

I always just assumed I was the only one to have a dream like that. Makes me feel better to know someone else does too.

They call them cop dreams. Most commonly, it happens to people like police and military. I did not have these dreams before combat.

Funny thing, the only guns I ever dream about are ones that I already have. I have a once a month nightmare that someone is trying to pilfer my Winchesters and Colts and the next day I go out and spend another $500 on security.-------6

Well.. I guess I need to amend my first response in this thread apparently this thread"inspired" me cause the other night I did have a gun dream that I do remember... Dreamed I went to the range to shoot my smoothie flinter and left the ram rod at home...
