The news media only reports sensational mass murders, not how/when a responsible armed citized stopped a berserker (Like the NRA does in every issue of AR).

They are afraid if they if they publicize positive incidents where citizens defend themself against a crime, CCW will spread like wildfire and they will never control it.

It is truly a shame that the NRA is about the only place you will find reports such as this. Even FOX News is on its BUTTTTT when it comes to news stories regarding justified self defense!

Bad guy killed by good guy is not bad news. They specialize in, and sensationalize, bad news... the only kind they believe will sell newspapers... (or airtime for commercials).

Not to stereotype, but it happened in Texas... In, NYC, Boston, or SF, it WOULD have been news... Forced down all our throats nationwide about how outrageous it is that average people are carrying guns!

And in some journalists/editors minds, to report these incidents, is tantamount to encouraging them.

A few months back I saw on a bay area newscast that a drug dealer plying his trade in SF's Golden Gate Park shot in self defense a thug trying to strong arm his drugs out of his possession... It was ruled a legal self defense shooting!

Insane!!!! Almost anywhere else that dealer would be charged with murder. Here in Texas if anybody gets killed while a crime is being committed even a non shooter accomplice is charged with murder.

Even a CCW Licensee is responsible for anyone accidentally shot while defending himself.

Seems like the whole dang world has jumped off into Alice's rabbit hole. :?

Just got done watching the news and some whack job walked into a hospital in Philly and started blowing people away. Gonna be interesting to see what or who gets blamed for this one.

It's getting crazier every day here in this country. Mental illness is out of control. What once was a "once in a decade crime scene" is now everyday.

You Westerners have it nice. The crime that happens here in the East in the big cities is uncontrollable by the cops. The "bros" are shooting each other with little thought as to repercussions. Carjackings and home invasions are so numerous they don't even make the news and if they did, there is not enough paper to print them all on. Most guys I know will not even drive into Philly anymore, not so much as worrying from being shot but by the way cars are driven there. Those animals will run into you and keep on going. If you have to shop there or go to see a doctor, chances are your car won't be there when you get back.

A parking ticket now in Philly rivals that of a weeks paycheck. Blocks upon blocks of houses are boarded up. White flight is setting a world record as to speed.

I could go on for hours but I got 348's to load.---6

Hey 6.. I invite you to East L.A.
.
Nate.. The Park shooter was already a convicted felon for dealing drugs and will do no short sentence because as a felon he could not legally possess a firearm and that added more time to his sentence... But even in SF Kalifornia a felon has a right to self defense.

I think one of the reasons these types of events are not reported is because the media realizes that it might encourage more people to purchase a firearm and carry concealed when they see how carrying a concealed firearm can only thwart evildoers. Remember, the media these days is in the business to MAKE news not BRING it. Once evildoers see stories on the news about their ilk getting shot on a regular basis by concealed carry citizens, they'll think longer and harder before striking.

On another note, once in a while at Sturmgewehr.com there is a link to some news stations (usually in Texas!) where a news team will report a shooting where the good guy with the gun wins.

Express News is notoriously liberal, ah, the poor victim of more right wing gun violence.
