Another "bucket list" Grail Gun joins the collection

Post by Noah Zark »

I recently came across a used Ruger 1H in 405 Winchester and added it to the stable:

It's a companion gun to the Miroku-made 1895 in 405 I got some months back, top one in the photo below (middle is a Miroku-made 30-40, and the bottom is a 19-teens original Winchester 1895 in 30-06):

I really like these straightwall cartridges, the 38-55, 405, and 45-70.

Might as well face it, you're addicted to guns . . .

I kinda had thoughts of a 1H in 405 WCF myself . Bu I can make do with one in 416 REM MAG for now !

Have an older friend who got a Mirouku 1885 in 405 WCF a couple years ago . He likes his with cast bullets quite a bit .

Ya know, that "companion gun" mindset can get you in a heap of trouble over the years...

I had one like that a few years ago, great rifle! That's another one that I kick myself for getting rid of.

Nice looking guns, and it seems that you do like the straight wall cartridges, just as you stated.

That's an interesting caliber for the #1. I would not mind playing with that myself. I have the mould but need the gun.----6

That's a lovely find indeed. And I apologize for hijacking your thread. The hijack got its own thread now.
