I'm looking at getting rid of my cushy 1895G recoil pad and replacing it with a hard plastic factory marlin plate. My question is will a 336 or 1894 marlin plastic plate fit my guide gun?
Thanks Billy sailorsjeep@yahoo.com

It makes no difference whether it's a hard rubber/plastic BP or a rubber bumper, all Marlin butts are individually finished with their own pad/plate on, and any other pad/plate may be either a little too small (bad) or a little too big (good), or a lot too big (bad).
If the replacement's only a tad too big, it's easily filed/sanded down to match the stock.
If it were me, and it has been, in the past - I would either take the old pad with me when I went shopping, or a tracing/outline of the naked butt end on a small piece of paper I keep folded in my wallet, incase I run across one.
