That is a great one Scott. From my weak memory, that's John Kort shooting at the 700 yard Buffalo?

Very cool! With a hold like that I reckon whatever he's aiming for is quite a ways off.

Holy backfire  If fired at night you could read a book! Reminds me of firing my Mosin M44 at night. What fun!!!

Some of the things you could do with that flame:

Roast weenies...

Roast marshmellows...

Roast some perps butt as he's running away....

Read at night...

Smell burnt hair if'n your too close...

Light a fire...

Light a raging brushfire...

Let's hear some more!!!

That's the nice thing about the M44: you've got that handy spike to stick food on.

Good timing! How many did you take to get that one?

JohnK - not Kort. I BELIEVE that's on the Hunters' Silhouette range at the NRA Whittington Center - in which case he's probably taking a shot at the old "Banana Rock" which is about 585 yards off of the line. It's taken a pounding over the years from all manner of firearms, from bigbore revolvers to heavy rifles and everything in between. Shucks, Mic McPherson took my grandpa's old '94 in 30-30 and proceeded to pound that rock with a magazine full of ammo. Showed me that the "accuracy problems" I'd experienced were NOT the gun's fault at all. Something about the nut on the trigger is what he said, but I never found it, much less a wrench to tighten it up with. Anyway, if you've never gotten out there, it's WELL worth the trip. Great place to shoot.
