I Fell Off the Wagon

Post by olderndirt »

Well, I fell off the wagon again. Told myself I wouldn't buy and more lever guns, then Saturday I went to a gun show. Long story short, I bought a Henry Big Boy in 44Mag. All I can say is that thing is slick as butter and that brass sure is pretty! I am going to shoot it this weekend.
Maybe I can climb back on the wagon for a while.

The temptation is always too great, and I'm too weak to resist. I don't even promise myself anymore!

I think I figured out my problem, I keep taking my rat hole and check book with me. Maybe if I left them at home it might work.
On second thought the cost of gas and making a trip home to get money would cost me more anyway! :)

I also quite buying guns, that was two guns ago!

Nice choice, something about a brass frame lever you gotta love!! Folks sure talk about how smooth the Henrys are and 44 mag is just about ideal for a fast handling lever.

Congrats

Well I took it out today and put a hundred rounds thru it. Smooth as silk action, was having a blast breaking clay pigeons at fifty yards and a few at 100 yards. :D Not bad for an old guy with less than perfect eyes.
Going to get a peep sight for this gun and then really have fun.
Sorry, no pics. Camera is in company truck and forgot to take it out.
