Glock 30 SF
I mentioned that I was having a dickens of a time (IOW, I couldn't do it) getting the slide off the frame. It puzzled me because my old G36 would field strip in seconds. Well, the new ones must be different. Once the catches on either side of the slide are pushed down, YOU HAVE TO PULL THE TRIGGER ONE MORE TIME. That was not necessary for the older G36...

Re: Glock 30 SF
So you dry fire, pull down the releases on both sides of the frame, and pull the trigger again?

Unless I'm missing something, the slide won't come off the frame once it's initially detached unless you pull the trigger once last time.TedH wrote:So you dry fire, pull down the releases on both sides of the frame, and pull the trigger again?

Re: Glock 30 SF
All Glocks should be the same process to takedown
1. Remove magazine
2. Rack slide and empty chamber.
3. Rack slide and confirm chamber is empty. Release to full battery position.
4. Pull trigger.
5. Retract slide about 1/2 to 3/4 inch and pull down both take down tabs, just forward of the trigger guard.
6. Move slide completely forward and off the frame.
Easy peasy...

This. Once the trigger is pulled it stays in the "pulled" position, how can you pull it again?JohnB wrote:All Glocks should be the same process to takedown

It cocks again when pushing back the slide....I disobeyed my Man Card, and looked at the directions....yes, you have to pull it once again.http://www.glockmeister.com/TheGlockFie ... sembly.aspjazman wrote:This. 3rd, at least according to what I'm reading....jeepnik wrote:What generation?
4th would have a roll mark next to the Model Number, and this one has the extra pin above the trigger....

Not sure what gen my 30 is but I haven't run into this issue. I'll have to check my instructions. Thanks for the heads up

Re: Glock 30 SF
At least now it's "quirky", and not impossible. Those Glocks can go forever without cleaning....30wcf wrote:BlaineG -- glad you were able to take it apart...yeah, Glocks want to resent real quick as you found out...shot 150 rnds out of my G-30SF, what a great .45...best ever...

Re: Glock 30 SF
Blaine, I noticed this very thing the other day on my Glock 20 gen 4.
If you pull the trigger on an empty gun, retract the slide only 1/4 inch, pull the tabs down, the slide comes off easily. If you pull the slide back more than that, you have to pull the trigger again. Pull the slide back just enough, without resetting the trigger, the whole thing is apart in seconds. I picked up three Glocks last year, plus a M400, my first plastic guns ever, and am surprised by the accuracy and lite weight - I carry the 17 in the guitar shop in my back pocket (unchambered) no problemo.

Re: Glock 30 SF
My 30SF comes apart the same as any of my first generation Glocks.
