Broke my New Year's resolution. My new primary levergun: 45-70
This rifle was initially built by Brockmans as a complete custom package including trigger and function work, brockman sights including tritium insert on front sight, also has a quick mount on left side of fore grip for accessories like a scout light, then sent to Wild West Guns for the take down conversion where a match grade barrel and the WWG ejector were also installed. Other features include a 4 round trapdoor in the buttstock, 18 inch barrel, leather butt cuff. A Leupold scout scope in QD rings completes the rifle

That looks like about the perfect 45-70. I hope to have one in the same configuration in the near future.

Nice! Aimpoint out there on the barrel would seal the deal. -----that and a custom leather carry bag----although with the stainless finish, perhaps something a little more high speed low drag would be in order like a Cordura case or something like that
It balances at the takedown point. The wood is laminate but slimmed in the stock and fore grip. 7.25 pounds I bought it lightly used. WWG work was already done. I regretted getting rid of my copilot WWG, and when I found this one, decided to have a fire sale of firearms, guitar, and fishing equipment to pay for it. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!

That is just too sexy for its own good.
When the zombie robot bears rise up against us, I'm sure that lever will be on the front lines to put them back down.

Question: with that short barrel, how is the muzzle blast? I'm thinking there's a lot of powder left over from the little bit required to squirt that lead out that short length. I'm imagining something like firing the shorty Mosin Nagant rifles at dark.
That is a nice looking gun. How accurate is it off the bench? I have a Guide Gun, and the muzzle blast is pretty pronounced if I use the loads that are listed for leveraction rifles. The loads for trapdoor guns are not nearly as loud in my rifle. What about yours?

I was Navy. But why would that preclude showing pictures of a Corps flag?
I don't find the noise or muzzle blast objectionable of the 18" barrel. I shot a Nielgi in Texas that didn't notice it either! DRT. These slicked up Marlins shoot 5shot cloverleaf patterns at 50 yards. I use all sorts of ammo and I don't find them very particular. Randy garret ammo shoots just as well as Remington green box. Couldn't be happier. My co-pilot was louder due to the porting.

That might be the best hunting rifle I've seen; TD for easy transport and carry-able in normal luggage (a major point never ever appreciated enough), big bore thump with minimal meat loss, take it anywhere in any conditions to hunt anything, and its a lever action (certainly the best hunting rifle design ever conceived), and all the reliability and tuning bits from WWGs, outstanding!!!!!
I'm dying to see a picture of it tucked in a Super Cub, Land Rover, or a backpack.
