I like Pete Carroll ! --- I know he doesnt need any validation from me, but he's just the 3rd coach to have both a collegiate championship, and a Super Bowl ----- The other 2? Jimmy Johnson, and Barry Switzer (still nicknamed "The King" around my part of Oklahoma - )

OTOH - I have a lot of ties to Denver, so -- tons of friends who lost money on that game last night too

Looked like the whole team was stoned. Now, where or where would a whole team buy pot. Oh the home State, that's right. How many brownies does it take to blow the big one?

the guys who took that line are still doing the happy dance.

the espn radio coverage was far better than the tv. the tv announcers were constantly trying to make the game about Manning, constantly trying to coach from the booth, and were completely oblivious to how good a game Seattle actually played. so sometimes I would just crank up the espn radio feed and watch the tv. it works pretty well because the tv delay gives the radio the actual live reporting.

the game was NOT about Manning. I think the broncos and all the retards thought it was, and I think that's why they couldn't play against seahawks.

Looks like they drank from the "Fountain of Mediocrity" before last nights game. I wonder if anyone missed Tebow at some time last night. I , personally, think they should have kept him, and had Manning teach him, but thats just me.

I think Tebow had almost as much face time in his commercials as the Broncos had time of possession.

My wife said God was teaching Elway a lesson. Could be.

I wonder if Elway still has Tebow's phone number?

It shouldn't happen in the Pros, but, that very first snap that went over Manning's head seems to doom the whole game. I wish I could feel bad about it.

Manning is living on the edge with all his previous neck and back surgeries. All it would take is for him to be hit the right way and he is a quadraplegic for the rest of his life. I think he just played it super safe to protect his life. If he was smart he'd retire while he can still walk.

NEWSFLASH: Via the AP newswire it has just been made public that the reason the Denver Broncos lost the game is because the Cleveland Browns were actually on the field wearing Denver uniforms.

I used to be an avid sports fan, and watched every football game they were showing on tv. I also played from age 6 to age 18. In the last 4 years or so, I have almost completely lost interest in the sport all together. I grew up in the Dallas area as a rabid Cowboys fan, but they aren't producing much to cheer for these days. I have watched maybe a total of 2 1/2 games the whole season not including last night's Super Bowl, but that was a disappointment. I was going for Manning, but realized that Seattle had a heck of a team, and that they might just win. I never dreamed it would be such a blowout. Manning spent the whole game with his hands around his neck, choking.

I didn't watch the commercials. I didn't watch the halftime show. I loved the ball game. Nothing boring about watching perfection. :D

Yep - I watched the slo-mo replay, wherein you could see the look on his face - Manning was godsmacked - so I thought at that point the game was over. .

Didn't watch the game. I don't follow either team that played.

Been seeing news pieces that the Seahawks had advanced knowledge of Mannings signals on the line.

Now, from a professional sports perspect, i.e., win at all costs, one would expect this sort of industirial espionage to exist in the form of scouting reports, film archives, etc. Intelligence is good.
Knowing your enemy and all that. Catch them with their pants down.

But from a sporting perspective, where is the sporting competition in a game when one team effectively has a copy of their opponent's playbook?

Smells like cheating to me.

But, this was not children in a classroom taking a math exam. Kids passing around a crib note with the answers.

These were businessmen with jockstraps working for a payday.

For the Seahawks organization as professionals, well done. You found your competitor's a weak spot and took advantage, crushing them with a superior business plan.

For that team of competitive athletes playing the biggest game of the year before tens of millions of fans, shame. They did not prove they were the better team on the field.

Just my opinion.

they were the better team on the field. the sea defense figured out the handsignals in the first quarter and manning didn't change them. there is absolutely nothing unsporting about it.

so, are you thinking that we should give japan their carriers back, since we knew their "secret" code when we lured them, trapped them, and sank them?
or should we give the germans their submarines back since we knew their "secret" code and sent aircraft to rendevous and sink them?

as you said, you don't follow the teams and didn't watch the game...

Waging war is a different human endeavor altogether and a childs game being played by grown men is not an ideal subject for comparison to such.

I believe I mentioned my attitude toward professional competition.

I'm talking about a game. Sportsmanship.

If they figured it out on the field, that's a different issue entirely, and a credit to the Seahawk defensive squad..

If Manning didn't notice that they were on to his game, he likely contributed significantly to his team's defeat.

I'm aware that it's a business. I've said that Ive got no issue with ruthlessness toward a business competitor. It's truly a dog-eat-dog world.

I'm just saying it might have been a better game if they hadn't cheated, if they cheated.

Which they didn't.

The last football game I watched was in the 1960's when Purdue went to the Rose Bowl.

Unless a family member or friend is playing in the game, I could care less who wins.

A bunch of neighborhood kids playing football would be more interesting to me, if I knew one of the kids...
