Prayer Request

Post by shooter »

A couple of weeks ago my wife's family was affected by a suicide. The 40-something daughter of her grandpa's closest cousin (he is closer to him than his own brothers), decided she could take no more and decided to end her life.

As if that wasn't bad enough, this morning we found out that my wife's step-grandfather slit his wrists sometime last night. Her step dad went to check on him this morning and found him dead in his bedroom. Please pray for my wife and her family as they make it through this tough time.

My uncle committed suicide a few years ago, a member of this forum, and I think these people have no idea the devastation they leave in their wake. I cannot understand what goes through peoples' head when they make this decision. I pray I never can, but every time this hits close to home it brings back all of the feelings I felt when my uncle passed. Again, please just pray for everyone involved in these situations to make it through the best they can. Thanks.
‎"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen" - Samuel Adams

I think in my case (two close people) the anger is the worst part. And, the anger makes you feel guilty :(
Prayers up for the survivors, and the departed's soul.

shooter, you nailed it. Those who commit suicide simply don't realize the absolute devastation their act leaves those around them. Prayers up.
