Brrrrr.....for Okie's at least

A balmy +7* at 0600. Little chilly for us southern boys. TTL there was no wind.

May your rifle always shoot straight, your mag never run dry, you always have one more round than you have adversaries, and your good mate always be there to watch your back.

I thought it got colder than that --- the news crews were calling for lower temps than that, but that could've been wind chill --- was brutal wind yesterday -- my northern based buddies call us Okies sissies , but hey , I'm not used to this -- winter gear for me has always just been a good set of boots, jeans, mechanix gloves and a Carhart coat ---This year, I have used pac boots, winter hats, ski gloves and it seems half the Under Armour catalog in attempts to stay warm and get outside occasionally

Temps are up to 22 now though, at 2PM -- maybe time to go for a swim, huh?

It's down to -11 right now not including the wind chill.
Just got in 400 gallons of propane so it can blow all it wants! Gusting around 25 knots
right now.

Stay warm everyone!!

It's nearly 16:30 here and still only 14 F. Will be the high for today. Bought another pet carrier to let me have separate bedrooms for my dogs. I stuffed them both in the same one last night accompanied by much growling and snapping but I just didn't feel right about leaving them out in -6 or less as they are short haired Walker hounds.

I've got three mutts that are almost as precious to me as my children. Temps under 35 or above 95 and they get to come in, all are getting older and the extremes are hard on them. LOL, I used to let them in the back room with a pad on the tile floor, new wifey puts covers on the couches and they sleep in the living room now. Gotta love a woman that lets a man's dogs sleep on the furniture. I think they love her more than me now.

Same here --- I let 'em stay in my garage (its insulated) - and I run one of those big space heaters from Tractor Supply -- heats up about a 15 foot radius going out from it and they all gather around on old bath mats and towels (I've tried the commercial pet beds, but they tear 'em up )
There's a TV down there and Rita (my wife) selects cheerful mild mannered programming for them -- - I know that sounds dumb as heck, but the background noise calms them down and keeps them from getting into stuff
