Hot in Brisbane Australia 114.8 Farenheit

Post by Nicknack »

On Saturday we had hot Westerly winds blow in from Central Australia,my thermometer was Reading a little over 46 degrees Celsius (114.8 Fahrenheit) under our house in the shade. We spent most of the day in my best mates pool had to eventually get out as I was starting to grow scales and gills, last night it was still 30 degrees C (86 degrees Fahrenheit) at 11.00 PM.Brisbane city had a high of 41 C (105 F) but because we live out in the outer west it was a lot hotter. It was that hot when i got out of the car I left my bum on the seat, thankfully we didn't have the usual high humidity it was just bloody HOT!

We'd have been happy to send you last night's low of -18!

And you can have the coming Monday's ice storm, too, if
you think it will help. :)

Stay cool, lad!

Having been up to 130F for several months without much shade, you haven't experienced hot yet. :)

I can't imagine that kind of heat. I would surely die. How much beer can one man sweat out?

My family used to spend weekends and vacations out at the Colorado River, water-skiing. Summers the temps would go above 120ºF. Being a kid, the heat didn't bother until the asphalt would ooze up between the toes... about the only time besides school, I'd wear shoes! Midnite or so it'd cool down into the 90's! Great memories!

Nicknack, I love it if you could spare 30 degrees F or so of some of yer heat. We can use it here in the great white north

It has been like that in Texas in the Summer a time or two. It is never any fun for me. How long for you until the rainy season hits?

Our flight home from Melbourne was cancelled today. We'll have to stay another 2 days for a plane with enough room to accommodate us. So, it could have been worse--had my mother in law chosen to live in Brisbane. It was a very pleasant 19 or 20 C here today. :)

Rats: I've had to cancel my trip to the Dallas Safari Club show, where I'd hoped to inspect Mr Turnbull's leverguns. :( I've never been to a show such as DSC, and I wanted to try it once--maybe next year.
