Dallas Gun Shops to visit????

Post by rbertalotto »

I'm here in Dallas for a couple of days. I usually visit the two Cabelas, but where else should I be visiting. Interested in vintage (pre 1910) rifles and anything Cowboy.

Thanks!

Good question. I'll be interested to see the replies as well.

If you're going to be there through the weekend, there's a gun show at Will Rogers center in Ft. Worth the next two weekends. Also on Jan 4-5 there's a guns show at Market Hall in Dallas. It is a very large show and there is often a few dealers with vintage Winchesters and other old guns.

Ray's. Dallas. For cowboy.

McClelland's. Dallas. Some inyeresting stuff.

Cheaper Than Dirt's retail store for EBR stuff.

Wish I was home... I'd explore w/ya... Ft. Worth is said to have a couple, but I seldom venture over there... it's the "wild 'n woolie West" don'tcha know! :P

Winchester Gallery in Fort Worth off 820 and Landcaster. Jackson Armory Dallas in Snider Plaza. Both have lots of older guns. RR7

Jackson Armory in Highland Park is great, but pricey. They have lots of neat stuff to drool over. Highest priced gun I've ever personally seen was in that shop. It was an original 1866 Henry.

Ray's sporting goods

Cabelas up in Allen has a large selection, and racks of used stuff that you can sometimes find a decent deal.

McClelland's

Gander Mountain recently opened up in Mesquite, and is supposed to have the largest selection of guns around. Granted, they are all new and no collector pieces, but lots to look at.

Those are my usual haunts. There are tons of shops around, some ok, some not.

Thanks for the info! I was going to ask that myself because I will be over in Dallas early next year. I have been to Ray's several times and always find something there. I am still kicking myself for passing up an old Remington 11 with a 26" barrel and a chopped down youth length stock that they had for $225.
