ok guys can the trigger pull lbs be adjusted lower then what is set at now ????thanks for any input

No. A smith can help you or you can purchase a Happy Trigger which is a very fine, 3-4lb, drop in replacement for about 80$$

I usually polish the hammer & sear surfaces myself. Its not hard if you can be careful. No need to change anything just remove machine marks.

That aside I had a local smith/clockmaker do my 1895 Marlin last week. He got me to 3lbs 7oz's for $30. I only recently discovered him, I found him on a list of FFL's on Auction Arms. Less than 1/2 mile away & quick ta boot!. :D
